The Reserve Bank of India has launched a pilot project to facilitate transactions without internet to promote digital transactions. Right now the limit has been kept very low which is an amount of Rs. This can be done with debit card, wallet or mobile under pilot scheme. No verification will be required for this. The scheme will run till March 31, 2021.

The RBI pointed out that there are still many areas in the country where there is no internet facility, and this is hindering digital payments. This is why offline payments are being made available through wallets, cards and mobile devices.
