After hiked salary for employees who are performing night duties, the central government has announced new changes in salary increments for stenographers. According to new rules stenographers of subordinate offices published, stenographers recruited on the basis of speed test in the shorthand at 80 words per minute will be granted one advance increment on qualifying speed test in shorthand at 100 w.p.m. If one qualifies in 120 w.p.m., he/she will be granted one more advance increment.
Also the new rules says that if recruited on the basis of speed test in the shorthand at 80 w.p.m. directly qualifies thee speed test in shorthand at 120 w.p.m, the person will get two advance increments. Such tests will be conducted by properly constituted authorities including Departmental Authorities, said an Office memorandum of the Department of Personnel and Training, released on Thursday. The advance increment will be treated as a separate element in addition to the basic pay and would be counted as pay for all purposes, it said.
